Mind FULL to Mindfulness

ree

As a teenager, we are surrounded by so many thoughts and ideas that are mind is always full!

There are never enough hours in the day while juggling school work and after-hours activities and trying to find time for friends and family. What about time for yourself?

I was constantly thinking of what I needed to do next even before I finished what I was doing at that time. My mind was constantly racing and I was never relaxed.

Of course, we all see apps pop up in our social media like headspace, calm, etc. I decided to take a deeper dive into what mindfulness is all about.

Mindfulness is the awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally,” according to Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). We often get too serious or worried about what we do and forget to live in the moment. Life is just running by while worrying about what's next to come and being judgmental.

Take a break, and try to just focus on what you are doing at present. In a non-judgmental way.

Be present in this moment wherever you go, so you can enjoy that moment right then!

Try some of these resources about mindfulness and don't forget to leave a comment on any useful resource that you would like to share with us.
